Public Hearing on Scoping Report on Construction of Non-Hazardous Waste Landfill in Kvemo Kartli Region

The public hearing on the Scoping Report of the new, regional non-hazardous waste landfill for the Kvemo Kartli region will be held on December 21, 2020, at 14:00. The landfill construction is planned within the project of the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia “Kvemo Kartli Solid Waste Management”.

Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, there are different restrictions in the country at different times, in order to carry out the procedures provided by the Code, on September 18, 2020, an amendment was made to theEnvironmental Assessment Code”, which envisages the possibility of conducting public hearing remotely, using electronic means of communication, in case of a pandemic/epidemic defined by the legislation of Georgia.

Therefore the public hearing on the scoping account will be held remotely, using electronic means of communication, the Webex app. The Public hearing is open, any member of the public has the right to participate in them, as well as to submit comments and opinions.
