17/07/2017 – The new Waste Transfer station arrangement has been completed in Mestia.
“Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia” Ltd in coordination with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia constructed a waste transfer modern station in Mestia. Household waste collected at municipality is being loaded to the transfer machines at the station and regularly transported to rehabilitated landfill in Zugdidi Municipality.
This will help to improve ecological and living conditions in Mestia Municipality.
Director of the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia, Giorgi Shukhoshvili, visited the waste transfer station together with Governor of Mestia Municipality, Kapiton Zhorzholiani and representatives of local self-government.
Constructing waste transfer stations in Mestia was funded from state budget of Georgia with 314 700 Gel.
