5/12/2021 – on 5th December, the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia under the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia handed over special machinery equipment and waste collection containers to Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti municipalities.
The Special machinery equipment and containers have been purchased by the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia (SWMCG) within the framework of the Infrastructural project to clean up the Black Sea coastal zone, rivers and the surrounding area from waste, within the administrative boundaries of Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti municipalities.
In total, 8 waste trucks, 4 dump trucks and 800 containers were delivered to the municipalities (4 waste trucks, 2 dump trucks and 500 containers – to Lanchkhuti municipality; 4 waste trucks, 2 dump trucks and 300 containers – to Ozurgeti municipality).
The new machinery equipment will improve the waste collection and management process in the municipalities. Clean-up and waste transfer services will be available to even more residents of the municipalities. Both, the container method of waste collection and the “call principle” method of waste collection will be used for highland villages.
The event for the transfer of special machinery equipment and containers to the municipalities was attended by: Mzia Giorgobiani, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Giorgi Urushadze, governor of Guria region; Giorgi Shukhoshvili, director of the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia (SWMCG); Alexander Sarishvili, mayor of Lanchkhuti and Avtandil Talakvadze, mayor of Ozugeti.
