Dmanisi municipal landfill was rehabilitated in November 2015. Landfill operates since the year of 1998. The total area of the landfill comprises 10 027.00 m² and about 180m³ household waste is being disposed daily on the landfill territory from Dmanisi Municipality and its nearby villages.

Oni municipal landfill operates since the year of 1975. Oni municipal landfill was transferred to the possession of Ltd. “Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia” in 2013. The rehabilitation works of municipal landfill of Oni were accomplished in November 2015.

Tianeti municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in October 2015. Within the project framework the landfill territory was fenced, inner roads and drainage system were arranged, disposed waste was covered with an isolation layer and the special waste cells were prearranged for further utilization.

A renewed municipal landfill serves the population of Aspindza. The total area of the landfill comprises 14 064.00 m². Aspindza municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in November 2015. At the renovated landfill, waste treatment and disposal are determined in accordance with the existing standards.

The rehabilitation works of the Ninotsminda landfill were accomplished in July 2015. A renovated landfill serves the population of Ninotsminda and Akhalkalaki.

Bolnisi municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in May 2015. Municipal landfill of Bolnisi operates since 1975. At the renovated landfill, waste treatment and disposal are now determined in accordance with the existing standards.

Sachkhere municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished by SWMCG in May 2015. 60m³ household waste is being disposed daily on the landfill territory from Sachkhere and Chiatura Municipalities. Project employed 9 persons, out of which 7 were locals.

The solid Waste Management Company of Georgia completed the rehabilitation works of Terjola municipal landfill in May 2015. The renovated landfill now serves the population of Zestaponi, Terjola and Kharagauli. Terjola municipal landfill rehabilitation project employed 41 persons.

A renovated landfill serves the population of Dedophlistskaro since May 2015. At the renovated landfill, waste treatment and disposal are determined in accordance with the existing standards.

Renovation works on Foti municipal landfill were accomplished in February 2015. 22 people were employed on the rehabilitation works. The area of the local municipal landfill is 55185 square meters and the waste, with volume about 100 meter/cube per day, enters there.

Khashuri municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in February 2015. Khashuri municipal landfill operates since the year of 1982. The total area of the landfill comprises 75312.44m² and about 167m³ household waste is being disposed daily on the landfill territory from Khashuri municipality and its nearby villages.

A population of Kaspi is served by renewed landfill since January 2015. The landfill was not operated in line with the standards; the waste input process was disorganized. Currently, problems are solved.

Rehabilitation works on municipal landfill of Marneuli was completed in 2015. After starting operation of the renewed landfill waste is located in specially designated cells, according to the modern standards, which significantly reduces the harmful effect on the environment.

Samtredia municipal landfill rehabilitation works were completed in 2014. The renovated landfill serves the population of Samtredia, Vani and Khoni.

Rehabilitation works of Tsnori landfill was completed in 2014. The landfill, which covers an area of 24.536 square meters, serves Gurjaani and Sighnaghi municipalities.

Lagodekhi Municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in December 2014. The total area of the landfill comprises 12,209 m2 and about 43.3 m3 household wastes are being disposed daily on the landfill territory from Lagodekhi Municipality and its nearby villages.

Dusheti landfill has been operating since 1940. The landfill had been operating for 74 years but the situation there defied all sanitary standards. Once the rehabilitated landfill starts operating acceptance and disposal of waste will take place into special cells.

Samtredia landfill has been operating since 1985. The situation there defied all sanitary standards. The rehabilitated landfill will operate in full compliance with modern standards.

Kutaisi landfill has been operating since 1956. Polygon is located in Kutaisi, on Geguti highway, near Nikea Street, on the area of 150962.28 sq. / m. Rehabilitation works of Tsnori landfill was completed in 2014.

Ambrolauri Municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in 2014. The total area of the landfill comprises 7183.79 m2 and about 71 tons household wastes are being disposed monthly on the landfill territory from Ambrolauri Municipality and its nearby villages.

Gori Municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in 2014. The total area of the landfill comprises64,515.01 m2 and about 1822 tons household wastes are being disposed monthly on the landfill territory from Gori and Kareli Municipalities.

Ozurgeti Municipal landfill rehabilitation works were accomplished in 2014. The total area of the landfill comprises 13 305.00 m2 and about 987 tons household wastes are being disposed monthly on the landfill territory from Ozurgeti and Ureki Municipalities.

In the framework of the USAID- funded project “Waste Management Technologies in the regions” – Gurjaani municipal solid waste landfill closure plan has been developed.

Within the closure plan, Zestafoni Municipal landfill, active since 2007, was closed in 2016. The total area of the landfill comprises of 32 190.00 m².

The total area of the landfill comprises 13 305.00 m² and household wastes are being disposed daily on the Transfer Station from Ureki Municipality and its nearby villages.

The project completed in 2015. Kvareli municipal landfill operates since the year of 1981.

Ltd. “Solid Waste Management Company” is taking into account the reductions of existing landfills around the country.

“Solid Waste Management Company” launched the cleanup campaign – ,, Clean country – our job’’

The campaign participants cleaned up the nearby territory of Lisi Lake from the plastic bottles, bags, and other type of household waste.

The participants of the action cleared the area, collected the waste and removed to a landfill.

Giorgi Shukhoshvili, the Director of Ltd. “Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia” along with the city Mayor of Kutaisi Shota Murghulia together with the representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources visited the German city of Munich in 2016.

In the framework of the Project ,,integrated waste management project in Kvemo Karli’’ the director of the SWMCG, Giorgi Shukhoshvili has signed the Cooperation agreement with the implementation consultant company (PIU) – HPC HARRESS PICKEL CONSULT AG to provide services.

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Mr. David Narmania, Deputy Minister Mr. Shota Murghulia and the Director of the Solid Waste Management Company Giorgi Shukhoshvili met the representatives of KFW in Kutaisi in 2013.

For the effective implementation of works the purchased special equipment serves Kutaisi and Khashuri renewed polygons.

USAID’s Waste Management Technologies in Regions (WMTR) project has donated the Greenhouse Gas Measuring Equipment and will train SWMCG technicians to use it.

SWMCG purchased 5 bulldozers for Kakheti, Kvemo Kartli, and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions.

The purchased special equipment serves as a mean for effective fulfillment of the works conducted at the regional municipal landfills.
