On May 19, A public hearings will be held on Scoping Report of Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Regional Non-Hazardous Waste landfill (Financial Support: EU, KfW)

Within the framework of the project “Integrated Solid Waste Management – Kutaisi”, on May 19th, 2022 at 11:00, a public hearing on Scoping Report of Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Regional Non-Hazardous Waste landfill  will be held in Tskaltubo municipality, in administrative unit of village Mukhiani.

Public hearings are open, any member of the public has the right to participate in them, as well as to submit comments and opinions. See the Scoping announcement and Scoping report at the following link.

We would like to remind you that the Solid Waste Management Company of Georgia, Within the framework of the project “Integrated Solid Waste Management – Kutaisi”, has submitted a Scoping Report on the arrangement of Imereti and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti Regional Non-Hazardous Waste landfill to the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture on “Scoping Opinion” acceptance.

The project “Integrated Solid Waste Management – Kutaisi” includes the construction of a new regional non-hazardous waste landfill, the arrangement of a system of waste transfer stations and equipping municipalities with special waste collection techniques needed for waste collection and treatment. Also, after the commissioning of the new waste landfills, the existing   landfills (Including the “Nikea”) in the project areas will be gradually closed in accordance with the standards.

The project “Integrated Solid Waste Management – Kutaisi” is currently being implemented under German-Georgian bilateral cooperation, with the financial support of the EU Neighborhood Investment Platform  (NIF), the German Bank of Reconstruction (KfW) and the Government of Georgia.
