Rehabilitation works on municipal landfill of Marneuli completed. Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, George Koberidze viewed implemented works together with director of LLC “Solid Waste Management Company”, George Shukhoshvili and representatives of local authorities.
“Solid waste management company” at the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure fenced the territory of the polygon, organized access roads to the landfill, drainage channels, as well as the electrification of the area. 60 tons – weigh was installed on the landfill.
Marneuli landfill, which covers an area of 8 hectares, didn’t comply any ecological or sanitary norms and contained the threat to the local population. After starting operation of the renewed landfill waste will be located in specially designated cells, according to the modern standards, which will significantly reduce the harmful effect on the environment. It should be noted that non-organizing of the waste polluted the central road near the landfill.
Winner LLC “lava” carried out the project, with cost 529,929 Gel (funded from the state budget). 26 local residents were employed on the project.
