The dump of Telavi was fully rehabilitated

Municipal waste landfill in Telavi was fully rehabilitated. As a result of the implemented works, the landfill meets all the standards of environmental protection. From now on, citizens will be protected from the dangers caused by household waste. Clayey soil stockpiles are placed on the landfill which will cover the waste. In addition, permanently hardening of the dissipated waste and insulating layer by vibrato-ramming equipment is being realised.

Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure David Narmania, together with the director of Solid Waste Management Company Giorgi Shuxoshvili and the representatives of local government officials visited the rehabilitation landfill of Telavi.

Landfill was transferred to the ownership of Solid Waste Management Company in 2013, and for this time it’s fully regulated. For regulating the polygon and for placing the waste safely, the territory was fenced and a guarding-shack was housed. Also fire-stand, dump rendering and prohibiting sign were installed. In addition a 60 – ton engine Libra was installed; area was electrified; the shed for machine and tools was arranged; in addition Coastal Protection works have been held on the river Turdo, to protect the river from pouring the waste into the water.
Telavi dump has been put into operating.
